Blue Lagoon

History of the Blue Lagoon Cocktail

Origin & Creation

The most accepted story credits Andy MacElhone, son of the legendary bartender Harry MacElhone, who founded the famous Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. Andy is said to have invented the drink in the 1960s or early 1970s, using Blue Curaçao, a bright blue liqueur made from the dried peels of the Laraha citrus fruit, native to Curaçao.
